how i lost 5 kg in 60 days
Sixty days ago, I set a goal to lose 5 kg, and I’m proud to say I’ve reached that milestone. It wasn’t about extreme diets or overworking myself; it was about consistency and balance in several key areas.
Tracking Calories and Macros
The first thing I did was start tracking my daily calorie intake and macronutrients. This allowed me to stay within a caloric deficit—burning more calories than I consumed—while ensuring I was getting the right balance of protein, fats, and carbs. By focusing on a high-protein diet, I was able to preserve muscle mass while losing fat. Protein also kept me fuller for longer, which helped curb unnecessary snacking.
. Structured Weight Training
I committed to working out at the gym four times a week, following a structured weightlifting plan. Each session was focused on building strength, improving muscle tone, and boosting my metabolism. Strength training is especially effective for fat loss because it helps you burn calories even after you leave the gym, thanks to the afterburn effect (EPOC).
Staying Active Daily
In addition to my gym sessions, I made sure to stay active every day, hitting 6,000 to 10,000 steps daily. This added movement, even on rest days, helped me increase my daily calorie burn without overexertion.
Prioritizing Sleep
One of the most important factors in my journey was getting enough sleep. I made it a priority to get **7 to 8 hours of sleep** every night. Quality sleep plays a huge role in recovery, muscle growth, and hormone regulation, including those that influence hunger and fat storage. Without enough rest, it would have been harder to stay consistent with my diet and workouts.
My Journey is not finished yet and althpough 5 kg in 60 days may not sound so appealing, studies shows that quick weight loss can back fire and results on regaining all the weight back and maybe more.
I also would like to point out that I am not only tracking the weight on the scale but I am focusing on the cm that I am losing from hips and waist and also taking into account how my clothes are fitting better. This makes me realize that the weight I am losing is the right one as I am losing body fat.
